CYSA has three divisions/levels
of soccer:
Division IV – Recreational Soccer:
This represents about 90% of Gold Nugget Soccer Club’s players.
Division III – Select Soccer: This
represents about 10% of Gold Nugget Soccer Club’s players.
Division I – Competition Soccer:
Competition soccer is a stand alone club in EDYSL.
What is Competition Soccer?
Competition soccer is CYSA Division I soccer, which is
one level above the CYSA Division III Select Soccer program. Competition
teams in our area are formed by the El Dorado United Competition.
For further information on Competition Soccer, please refer to El
Dorado United's website:
http://www.eldoradounited.com.
Competition Soccer is managed by the CYSA District VI’s “Playing
League”.
What is Select Soccer?
Our Select Soccer Program is 'CYSA
Division III soccer', which is one level above the CYSA Division IV Recreation
Program, which makes up the majority of our club's players. Select soccer
gives advanced players a chance to experience a more ambitious level of
soccer than is offered in our Recreation Program, and introduce players
to tournaments. Select is NOT the same as Competition (aka 'Comp'). Competition
soccer is CYSA Division I soccer, which is one level above the CYSA Division
III Select Soccer program. Competition teams in our area are formed by
the El Dorado United Competition Club.
Our Select Soccer Program
This year GOLD
NUGGET SOCCER CLUB will be merging with High
Sierra Soccer Club and Sierra Gold Soccer
Club to strengthen our select program opportunities.
Last year, High Sierra and Sierra Gold successfully combined their programs
and for the first time in the history both clubs had a complete program
of U10 Boys, U10 Girls, U12 Boys, U12 Girls, U14 Boys, U14 Girls, and
U19 Girls. This year our goal will also include an U16 Girls team. Having
a complete program is critical for being able to improve the select and
competition programs.
Sierra Gold Soccer Club
will administer the Combined Select Program. Coaches from all three clubs
are encouraged to apply for a coaching position.
