We thank you for volunteering to help your coach and the children on the team. Your responsibilities include: establishing snack schedules for each game; contacting families to pass along information or changes in practice or game schedules; obtaining and distributing information on picture/photo sessions; and general assistance to the coach. Additionally, you will facilitate the efforts to acquire and design the team banner; organize the end of game "parent tunnel" and plan for the coach's gift at the end of the year. All of these activities are GNSC traditions that may not occur without your leadership.

1 - Snack Schedules - Assign each family a game to include half and after game treat.
Halftime - high water content fruit (Grapes, oranges, watermelon, etc.)

Post game - anything you think the kids would enjoy
( popcorn, chips, popsicles, juice, yogurt, cheesesticks, beef jerkey, etc.)

*Many parents bring enough for siblings but that is not expected

2 - Team Banners - Some teams have an existing banner from previous seasons that you might be able to use, or it can be home-made or ordered on-line or obtained from a sign store. For examples of banners, click here or check out:

3 - Parent Tunnel -

After each game played, parents on both teams join together to make one tunnel in the center of the field for all players to run through and enjoy. This practice sets a great display of team spirit and collaboration amongst players and families.

4 - Coach's Gift - All coaches are volunteers and although they might believe a simple, "thank you" is sufficient, it is nice to get them a token of appreciation from their players and parents as a symbol of gratitude. Idea(s) for a gift and monetary contributions are worked out between each family and the team parent. You might want to generate ideas and obtain a common agreement as a team of what you would like to do for your coach.
